This coffee-based MLM program has been doing the rounds on social media recently. The brand has posted plenty of glowing reviews claiming that customers have successfully dropped weight using their product. However, there’s something that this company is not telling you.
In today’s review, I’ll be revealing the truth behind Valentus and whether their income opportunity is as good as the company claims.
The fact that you’ve taken a moment to scrutinize this product before signing up should be applauded. You’ve done yourself a huge favour. Your due diligence will save you from potentially wasting your time and money.

As a result, the company has been given multiple warnings by various countries. This is the kind of company you’ll be dealing with if you decide to sign up to their program.

Valentus Explained
Valentus is a multi-level marketing program that markets weight loss products in the health and wellness industry. Supposedly, their coffees can assist customers to melt off the pounds and make them healthier.
We’ll talk about the health aspects in the next few sections. At the moment, I’d like us to get to know the company and its founders.
Valentus is a company based in South Dakota, US and was created by Dave Jordan. The business began operating in September 2014 and was formally launched a couple of months after that.
Korey Johnson is listed as one of the execs in the leadership team. Rumor has it that he’s one of Valentus’ co-founders. Nonetheless, Korey left the business because he disagreed with the unethical practices that he saw whilst there. He then founded his own MLM business named Cellis. It specializes in coffee as well.
At this stage we’re not sure if Cellis uses similar ingredient as Valentus, but that’s a story for another day.
Valentus Product Range
Initially, Valentus only focused on weight-reducing coffees, energy drinks, weight loss drinks, and products to boost the immune system. A couple of years ago, it then expanded the product range.
Below is a summary of their best-selling products-
- Prevail Energy: A nutritious energy drink provided in powdered form. Simply stir the powder into a glass of water and it’s ready to drink.
- Prevail Immune: This drink is packed with antioxidants and vitamins to improve your immune system,
- SlimRoast: Their weight loss coffee is supplied in powdered form. You can choose from various “roasts” or flavors.
- Breakthrough AM/PM: 1 packet is consumed during the daytime and the other at night.
- SlimRoast Cocoa: For those that don’t like coffee, this version of SlimRoast replaces the coffee with hot cocoa instead.
- PrevailMAX: A spritzer spray dispenser that’s sprayed beneath your tongue to boost the health of blood cells.
Does Valentus Work?
Our focal point today is going to be the SlimRoast. This product is different to the others, but not for the right reasons.
In 2019, the company’s SlimRoast made the headlines after several investigations which concluded that the ingredients could cause harm. One investigation even stated that SlimRoast can potentially cause damage to the kidneys. What?
Furthermore, there’s a report about a lady in New Zealand that went for a routine drug test, which found amphetamines in her system. The test was conducted by Compliance Partners, who subsequently traced back the amphetamines to Valentus SlimRoast Coffee.
Valentus supplied a SlimRoast sample to Compliance Partners to be examined and they found 1,3-dimethylamylamine (DMAA) and Phenethylamine (PEA).
What are these substances?
- PEA comes from the chain of amphetamines. It’s a stimulant that found in tiny doses in chocolate and wine. Your body also makes tiny amounts of it. PEA releases a small surge of dopamine into your system to increase energy and perk you up.
- DMAA is a substance that was originally used in nasal decongestants. This stimulant is popular as a party pill and has replaced Benzylpiperizine (BZP) after it was outlawed in many countries including New Zealand.
After it was confirmed that PEA and DMAA were found in SlimRoast, the media got in touch with Valentus for an explanation. But the company refused to comment.

SlimRoast also contains Octodrine, which is only meant to be prescribed by a doctor. As result of this, New Zealand published a statement to warn consumers about the cocktail of substances in SlimRoast.
Furthermore, warnings about the product were issued in different countries after the discovery of these substances-
- A warning was issued in the USA because DMAA is banned there.
- DMAA is illegal in the EU. More details can be found in this article.
- Singapore published a warning about consuming Valentus products.

Valentus incentivizes you to invest more money into the program by offering bigger commissions for the higher ranks.
If you want to reach the higher rank you will have to subscribe to the monthly auto-ship as well as directly recruiting a certain number of members and have them reach a specific rank as shown in the above chart.
How To Earn With Valentus
- Earn up to 25% from Retail Commissions: You can potentially make a profit from the difference in price between buying at wholesale and selling at retail.
- Binary Residual Commissions (Earn a maximum of $100,000 each week): This compensation plan is calculated using a binary structure. Therefore, you’ll initially create your team with 2 legs and the structure builds out from there.
- Fast Start Bonus (maximum of $100): This bonus compensates you through the packages that new team members buy. The maximum is 4 members or 4 bonuses and is capped at $100.

Valentus Exposed!
1). Products Contain Banned Substances
I don’t know how you feel about promoting products with illegal substances but for me this is a big red flag and unnecessary.
These findings have been verified by the media, health regulators and compliance partners.
Valentus products are already banned in many countries. Warnings have been issued out to customers against consuming their products, therefore, it would not be wise to get involved with this program.
2). Costly Products
The cost of Valentus products is simply too high, even if their products turned out to be top of the line and nutritional.
The example below shows just how ridiculous their prices are. Expect to pay $64.95 for a tub of SlimRoast on Amazon.
That’s nearly $2 for a cup of SlimRoast.
If we circle back to the first point, you’re essentially paying top dollar to make yourself potentially ill.
3). Highly Competitive Industry
There’s no getting around this one. The weight loss industry is inundated with products and is highly competitive. Certain sources have stated that this market is worth $72 billion, and that’s just in the USA. This should give you a clearer picture of the sheer number of product saturating this industry.
In addition to the above, you’ll have to content with MLM rivals, marketing health products, and you will need to compete against household brands that are less expensive and much safer to consume.
4). Where’s The Income Disclosure Statement?
The fact that Valentus has not provided an income disclosure statement means that there’s a strong chance nobody is profiting from their program. No evidence has been shown that members are earning from this income opportunity even though the company has been running for 6 years.

Advantages of Valentus
Absolutely nothing. In fact, staying away from this product is good for your health (literally).
Is Valentus a Scam or a Legit Business?
Valentus is an authentic company which promotes products with banned substances. That’s a problem! Consuming their products could lead to health issues for you or anyone that you sell this product to.
There are plenty drawbacks about this company but the biggest concern is their use of questionable ingredients.
We don’t know whether the company has removed these substances from their ingredients but my guess is that they still contained DMAA and PEA. The company has told us otherwise.
Promoting and selling this product is a big risk for 2 reasons:
- Consuming it could negatively impact your health.
- Selling it could get you in trouble with the law based on your location.
