Transcribe.Com Product Summary
Transcribe.Com is a service that offers a range of transcription jobs for people working from home. The company provides a well founded system that pays members reliably. A big drawback with this company is the low salary, which can be attributed to the fact you would be working for them as a freelancer, hence receiving just a fraction of the pay. This platform might not be worth pursuing if you intend to build a thriving business around it.

Transcribe.Com Explained
Transcribe.Com is a renowned transcription service that has grown to be quite popular in the industry. Their LinkedIn profile states that the company was founded in 2013 and is based in Illinois, USA.
The company provides services for different sectors such as:
- Medicinal
- Law firms
- Financial companies
- Entertainment
Transcribe.Com also offers transcription services for the following items:
- Dissertations
- Sermons and Speeches
- Documents
- Business meetings
The website for Transcribe.com is currently out of service as of this writing. It looks like the company did not renew the domain name for whatever reason. The business seems to have links with another transcription service called Rev.Com. At this moment, we can’t verify whether both companies are one in the same or if they’re working alongside each other.

Exploring Transcribe.Com
If you want to work for Transcribe.com the company stipulates that you are a minimum of 18 years old and a US citizen. The don’t accept applications from people outside the US.
Hardware and Software requirements are:
- A foot pedal– you will need a transcribing foot pedal which lets you stop/start/pause audio files efficiently.
- A fast and steady internet connection– you will be downloading or streaming large audio files.
- Express Scribe– The company recommends using this transcription software. The monthly fee for this is $30, which is quite affordable.
Applying to Work for Transcribe.Com
The application procedure is easy. There’s a link to apply for work on the homepage (whenever the company decides to revive their site). You’ll be asked to provide your personal information and contact details.
You’ll then be redirected to another page to learn the formatting requirements and look through other important details. Samples of previous transcriptions will be given to use as a reference.
When you’ve gone through the guidelines, Transcribe.com will require you to download a recording that you’ll need to transcribe.
Another requirement for the test is for the recording to be time-stamped. This can be done automatically using their recommended software. Once you’ve finished the test, simply upload it to the website and the company will give you a verdict within 2 – 3 days.
If you pass the test and are accepted for the job, you’ll need to give the company some extra details, namely your payment info. After this, you can begin working.

What Salary Can You Make With Transcribe.com?
The company pays very regularly. In fact, you can expect payment as soon as the job is done. If your work requires editing, your earnings will be paid out the following day, provided the changes are made before the specified deadline.
The company sends payments through PayPal only.
According to Transcribe.com, you can earn up to $600 per month. This is on the basis that you commit a minimum of 4 hours per day transcribing.
If you earn anything over $600 within a calendar year the company will prompt you to pay taxes. You’ll be required to fill in a 1099 tax document.

What Hours Can You Work?
The company offers flexibility with working hours. Whenever you sign in to the website you can start working on whatever jobs are available. However, there are several conditions to the flexible working:
- Flexible hours don’t mean that the deadline is flexible. Essentially, it all depends if you can finish the tasks on time. If a job has a deadline of 12 hours and it requires several hours to complete, you’ll most likely struggle to get it done.
- There are times of the day where the website will be busier with more transcribers on it looking for work. At these times, you’ll be competing with other people to get the job first.
Is Transcribe.Com The Right Product For You?
Transcribe.com is designed mainly for expert transcribers with a lot of experience under their belt. I would not recommend it for newbies.
The company prefers workers with existing transcription skills and a good grasp of the industry. They also prefer people that have completed transcription work for several clients or have worked for a similar service.

Transcribe.Com Exposed!
1). You Are Contracting!
You are technically working for the company as a contractor, although you’re working flexible hours. Transcribe.Com acts as the middleman between you and the clients rather than you sourcing clients directly. You’re essentially working as an independent contractor, therefore, working as an employee without the perks.
2). Little Pay and Time-Consuming
The work goes through Transcribe.Com, therefore, you are only getting a fraction of the profits from the job. The maximum you’ll get is roughly 50% but you’ll be doing the hard work of transcribing. This type of work also takes up a lot of time.

3). Only Available To People In The US
A major drawback of this platform is that it’s not open to people outside of the US.
Advantages of Transcribe.Com
1). Reliable Payments
Based on the reviews on TrustPilot and GlassDoor, the company has got great feedback about delivering prompt payments to contractors.

Here’s an example of feedback for Transcribe.Com on TrustPilot

Here’s an example of feedback for Transcribe.Com on GlassDoor.
The only complaint from workers is that the pay is not much. The platform would be more appealing if Transcribe.Com increased their rates.
2). Minimal Investment To Get Started
You’ll only require a bit of equipment to get started and work efficiently. Foot pedals cost between $30-$50 online, and the software subscription is $30 per month. You will make this money back very quickly once you start taking on available jobs.
3). Work From The Comfort of Home
Transcribe.Com offers a respectable income opportunity that you can work on from home if you’re based in the US. This will be a much-needed income stream for many people that have lost their jobs because of the pandemic.

Is Transcribe.Com a Scam or a Genuine Business?
Transcribe.Com is a legitimate company that offers a reasonable amount of work for experienced transcribers that work from home. You can work on jobs around your preferred schedule.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Transcribe.Com as a sustainable platform that can offer a full-time salary:
- $600 per month in additional money would not be enough to replace your 9-5 job. You would need to commit a considerable amount of time into this type of work to achieve anywhere near $600.
- It’s only available to people in the US. There are alternative services that accept people outside of the US.
The website is down at the moment, therefore, it’s worthless trying to apply with Transcribe.Com. There’s no indication whether the site will be revamped or if they’ve changed to another name.
How Do I Use The Internet to Make a Full-Time Salary?
I’m not a big fan of get-rich-quick schemes or transcription service providers, let’s just say that I’ve been caught short a few times.
Instead, an Amazon FBA Business is my leading recommendation for people that want to build a thriving full-time online business working from home.
Here are my reasons why…
- There’s no pressure to recruit family and friends, or anyone else for that matter.
- Learn a unique method to source incredible, high profit, low-competition products that are virtually hidden from your competitors.
- You don’t need to sell hundreds of different products to create lucrative profits with this fresh, exciting business model.
An Amazon FBA business can help you to…
Generate a 5-7 Figure Salary and become financially free from the limitations of a traditional day job. You can do this in less than 12 months!
