I’m guessing you’re here because you found out about RU Affiliates. Maybe you heard about it in some social media site or someone you know is trying to convince you to sign up for this program.
However, the internet is littered with ridiculous get-rich-quick schemes, and RU Affiliates is just one of them. Just like many others, this program also claims that you will be able to make a lot of money in a short period of time without any work at all.
Sounds good, right?
No!

Wesley Bacate founded RU Affiliates, an online business opportunity wherein they supposedly turn your “emails into ATMS.” They have a product called IHX Factor that they sell. The IHX Factor is a course program that claims to teach you how to succeed in your online businesses.
However, despite the fact that this company denies to be an MLM/networking site, it really follows the same business model as multilevel marketing schemes. While MLMs are not entirely bad, they do have a reputation for having very low income possibilities and extremely low success rates.
Furthermore, we already know that RU Affiliates is not a legitimate company. Let’s find out more in the sections below.

RU Affiliates Background
RU Affiliates is an online network marketing organization that focuses in finding and signing up new recruits via email autoresponders. In addition to that, RU Affiliates is also a website and training course designed exclusively for Filipinos in April 2017 with the ridiculous claims of “We turn emails into ATMs.” Wesley Bacate, who resides in Laguna, Philippines, is the one who started it all.
IHX Factor is the name of the training course that they offer. The IHX Factor comes with 11 training videos that will show you how to spot recruits and grow your downlines in order to earn money and commissions.
Furthermore, RU Affiliates markets itself as a work-at-home business opportunity, but this could not be farther from the truth. As you can already see from what the course teaches you, this is nothing more than a pyramid scheme.
What I found interesting is that in order to operate a legal business in the Philippines, you must first obtain the required permits and documentation. After doing some investigation, I discovered that they do have a business license and legal documentation, which suggests that this company is legit.
Regardless of their legitimacy, pyramid schemes are still unethical and illegal. In fact, it’s actually illegal to operate pyramid schemes according to the Department of Trade and Industry in the Phillippines. Here’s what they have to say:
Who Is Wesley Bacate?
As it is with many scams on the internet, Wesley Bacate’s social media footprint is no-existent. Apart from the official Facebook of RU Affiliates, there is no other information that can be found on the creator.
However, he does have a physical address at Block 18, Lot 1 Phase 3 Sto Tomas, Biñan City, Laguna, Philippines. Whether he actually lives there or not, we do not know. Additionally, no photos of him or even an “About Him” page can be found on the RU Affiliates site that might give us an insight as to who he is, what his past works were, or anything really.
Everything about him is just suspicious. If his business tactic is so successful, then why hide your identity? Shouldn’t he be proud of what he has achieved? As far as I know, this guy doesn’t exist at all aside from his connection with RU Affiliates.
RU Affiliates Product Line
Similar to many pyramid schemes, RU Affiliates don’t really offer any tangible products or anything of value. They offer a training program called “IHX Factor” priced at P1,599 but it doesn’t really provide any helpful tips or offer you any skills you can use in order to create a successful online business.
They claim that they will teach you online marketing but in truth, the only thing you will learn here is how you can find people to promote this product to. So basically, all you will get from this training course is that you need to find people you can convince to join in the program.
I don’t know about you, but that is exactly what a pyramid scheme is. This IHX Factor course is nothing but a ruse to fool you into believing that they’re not trying to lure you into a pyramid scheme.
See, when a company’s only source of revenue is through recruitment, it’s a pyramid scheme. And that’s what RU Affiliates is. Aside from “learning” how to recruit people into the system, what else does this course bring to the table? Absolutely nothing.
There are plenty of free course programs you can join in the internet that are actually legit. I’ll even recommend you one of the best out there by the end of this review.
How Does RU Affiliates Work?
When you activiate your account after signing up using someone’s affiliate link, that person will get a commission off of your purchase. After the activation, you will receive RU Affiliates’ training program, IHX Factor.
Once you finish the course, you can now promote the product to other people. Essentially, recruit them into the pyramid scheme the same way you joined.

When it comes to RU Affiliates’ compensation plan, the only way you can earn money from them is through recruiting people. Here’s how their commissions work:
- Direct Commission – Every time someone registers up for the course, you’ll get P1,000 ($20).
- Shared Commission – You’ll get P200 (or $4) as a bonus if you sign up three new referrals.
- Goodwill Commission – Your up line will get P400 ($8) and your down line will receive P400 each time you sign up three new members in the scheme.

According to the Securites and Exchange Commission, those who act as salesman, brokers, dealers or agents of RU Affiliates in selling or convincing people to invest in the investment scheme may likewise be prosecuted and held criminally liable under Section 28 of the Securities Regulation Code and penalized with a maximum fine of P5,000,000 or penalty of 21 years imprisonment.

A pyramid scheme is a risky and unsustainable business strategy in which a small number of top-level members attract newer members. Those who enrolled them pay up front expenses to those who registered them.
A percentage of the future fees received by newer members will be kicked up on the chain when they recruit their own underlings. These activities are also classified as “pyramid scams” and are banned in several countries.
Pyramid schemes get their name from the fact that they resemble a pyramid structure, starting with a single point at the top and gradually widening toward the bottom. Pyramid schemes are generally connected with fraudulent activities because they earn revenues from lower levels in the company to benefit those on the top.
It’s important you understand that the great majority of pyramid schemes heavily rely on recruitment fees and seldom include the sale of tangible products or services with inherent value. Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) operations are similar to pyramid schemes in nature, but they vary in that they include the legal selling of physical items.

RU Affiliates is a scam. Sure, you might earn money for the mean time but it is highly risky and not at all sustainable. One way or another, a pyramid scheme will collapse and you will find yourself at a loss.
