Call Center QA Explained
Call Center QA supposedly pays you to become a mystery shopper who phones a select number of call centers to assess a client’s call center workers.
In summary, your task is to pretend to be a customer and phone the designated call centers. You will participate in the call from beginning to end without revealing yourself. You’ll then be asked to assess the call afterwards.
The business model itself is genuine, however, I’ve got some reservations about Call Center QA.
Their offices are based in Boston, Massachusetts but there seems to be something shady about this company.
The company’s profile shows just 1 employee for the whole business. What does that mean?
I could not find contact details for any departments or CEO information.
No information came up when I searched for the domain (see the screenshot below). Although this isn’t a major red flag, I’m suspicious of a sole business person that pretends to be a company. What are they trying to hide?
If Call Center QA is a legitimate company, why are they so secretive about their company details?
Exploring Call Center QA
Call Center QA employs you to be a Quality Assessment Evaluator, therefore, you will make calls and act as a typical shopper while assessing the call.
The majority of calls will be to a company that provides a specific service, however, in some cases they will be selling products as well.
You will receive an email whenever a call is ready. Calls last between 5 to 10 minutes and when you’re finished, you’ll be invited to complete an evaluation form. You are meant to be compensated for your work when the form is submitted.
What Is The Mystery Shoppers Professionals Association?
Have you heard about the Mystery Shoppers Professionals Association? This is the regulatory body that keeps an eye on businesses that offer mystery shopping services.
This association is responsible for setting the benchmarks on how mystery shopping services should be conducted.
Therefore, if a company is certified by this association, they’re adhering to the industry’s standards. The problem is that Call Center QA is not part of the Mystery Shoppers Professionals Association, therefore, we don’t know how reliable the company is.

What Can You Expect To Be Paid?
The standard rate for each mystery shopping call is $5 and calls last for a duration of between 5 to 10 minutes. You’ll also need an additional 5 minutes to fill in the evaluation form.

The job is flexible as and when jobs come through. When a job is ready you will receive an email. Thankfully, the jobs are not dealt with strictly in the order of your availability and can be taken as long as they’re still active.

Is Call Center QA The Right Job For You?
Don’t bank on Call Center QA to replace your full-time job. It would be difficult to make a full-time salary from this job because it depends entirely on the frequency of work. In theory, it would be ideal for those that want to supplement their income but nothing more than that.
Call Center QA Exposed!
(1) You Might Not Get Paid!
There are several bad reviews online about Call Center QA not paying its agents for completed tasks. Yikes!
Unfortunately, there are many negative reviews relating to non-payment. Many agents have not been paid even after submitting several completed forms, therefore, they’ve worked for free.
As a result of the above discovery, I would take every positive review, relating to Call Center QA, with a pinch of salt.
(2) Where Are The Details Of The Owner?
I’m extremely wary of programs or companies that shy away from providing any information about the founder.
Withholding owner information usually means that the intentions of the company are dubious and it often ends up to be a scam. I hope this is not the case with Call Center QA.
(3) Falsified Reviews?
As mentioned before, the reviews for Call Center QA are a mixed bag. At one end there are agents praising this company and at the other end there are many unhappy agents.
I’m suspicious about the reviews because they are inconsistent, which makes me suspect that the good reviews might have been falsified.
Reviews are not hard to fake. Scammers can even buy reviews for as little as $5 a piece (as shown below). In this case, I’m going to uphold the negative non-payment reviews as true because I’d find it hard to believe that an agent would lie about not getting paid.

(4) This Company Is Phishing For Your Details!
If you’ve not noticed by now, this company is luring you into a phishing scam on the false pretense of a mystery shopping job.
The Call Center QA program is actually stealing your personal details whilst making you think that you’ve applied for a genuine job, this will also be the reason why agents have not been paid.
If you need more proof of this, check out the comment below from an agent whose information was phished:
Call Center QA Advantages
There’s absolutely zilch to benefit from this program. The company looks genuine on the face of it, however, their true intentions are less desirable.
Is Call Center QA a Scam?
Call Center QA looks like a scam, however, it’s not an obvious scam that takes money from you. It’s also not clear what happens to your information or where it ends up. Is the person behind this program selling on personal information? Most likely!
My recommendation would be to stay away from Call Center QA. They have NO intention of ever paying you. Instead, your personal details are stolen and that’s all there is to it.
Naturally, this leads me to my next question…
